Reach the Formicai Outpost in Dam Battlegrounds
Move across the Dam Battlegrounds toward the Formicai Outpost while avoiding patrols and automated turrets scattered throughout the area. Use cover from the broken structures to stay out of sight and take down nearby enemies quietly to reduce resistance. Once the outer defenses are cleared, head through the main gate and secure the central terminal to progress the quest. Keep an eye out for resource caches and data points along the way, as they can provide valuable upgrades for your gear.
First, you’ll need to reach the Formicai Outpost. It’s located in, unsurprisingly, the Formica Hills in the very south of Dam Battlegrounds. It’s an abandoned raider camp shaped like a plump tower perched on top of a hill. It’s not far from where you’ll need to complete the Broken Monument quest. The building is large enough to spot from quite a distance, which should help with finding it. A Free Loadout is a good option here as there’s no need to extract to complete the quest.
It’s close to many of the map’s southern spawn points, so with a bit of luck, you’ll only have a short trek to reach the Outpost. The area is relatively quiet during most runs, so you shouldn’t expect too many hostile players, and it’s mostly free of roaming Arc robots. Trudge up the steep path south of the Scrap Yard and Wreckage. When you get near the structure, you’ll tick off the first Arc Raiders A Symbol of Unification quest objective.
Locate the flag at the Formicai Outpost
After reaching the Formicai Outpost, move through the main corridor and follow the signal marker on your HUD. The flag is positioned on the upper platform near the central antenna array, guarded by a small patrol of ARC drones. Clear the area before interacting with the flag terminal to secure it. Once activated, a brief defense phase begins-hold your position until the transmission completes, then collect the confirmation signal to progress to the next stage of the quest.
Next, head inside the Formicai Outpost building. As you enter, look to your right to spot a bed with a backpack on it. Approach the backpack, and you’ll see a yellow ‘Search’ prompt. Pick up the Raider Flag that drops from the bag.
Hoist the flag on the small platform overlooking the Red Lake
Climb the ladder to reach the small platform above Red Lake. Interact with the flagpole at the edge and select the hoist option. The banner rises, marking this step complete in the unification ritual.
Continue further into the Outpost, and when you reach a circular room, walk to the balcony platform directly ahead of you. On your left, you’ll see a flagpole with a yellow ‘Raise Flag’ prompt. Raise the flag to complete the final objective.
Where to find the Raider Flag in Formicai Outpost

How to Reach It
Enter the outpost via the trail up the hill to its southern end or through a slim, dark hallway from the back. Right upon entry, look to your right for a medical gurney (or bed/linen press) with a yellow backpack on it.
Picking Up the Flag
Interact with the yellow-marked backpack to retrieve the Raider Flag-this completes the “locate the flag” objective. The spot lies just inside the entrance, before the main circular room.
How to reach the hoist platform overlooking Red Lake quickly
Quick Path to Hoist Platform: From the Raider Flag pickup inside Formicai Outpost, head straight through the main cylindrical room to the northeast exit for the fastest access to the platform overlooking Red Lake.
Entry and Flag Pickup
Enter via the southern trail or back hallway, grab the flag from the yellow backpack on the right-side gurney immediately inside. This keeps you oriented toward the core tower without detours.
Path to Platform
Proceed forward past any loot crates into the central area, then exit through the doorway to the balcony platform with Red Lake in view. Turn left to the flagpole on that small eastern platform and interact to hoist-total distance stays under 50 meters indoors.
Speed Tips
Skip climbing the rusted exterior tower; use the direct interior route to avoid enemies or falls. Bring Adrenaline Shots for stamina on the outpost run, and check for player ziplines to shortcut drops.
