Major Aiva’s Footlocker hides more than just forgotten gear-this Arc Raiders quest reveals coded mementos, tactical dilemmas, and a few surprises that will test your timing and nerve every step of the way.
Out of caution, it’s worth avoiding a Free Loadout and hitting topside with a standard Augment to get a Safe Pocket where you can safely stow away the mementos in case your run ends prematurely. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly where to find Major Aiva’s mementos to complete the Arc Raiders Major’s Footlocker quest.
Search for Major Aiva’s mementos in the apartments northwest of the Dam
The apartments northwest of the Dam hold several of Major Aiva’s personal mementos scattered across multiple rooms. Search carefully inside each unit, checking desks, drawers, and containers for collectible items marked with a faint blue glow. Some areas may be guarded by patrols, so keep your weapon ready and use cover to stay safe. Collect every memento before leaving the area, as these objects are needed to progress in the Major’s Footlocker quest.
First, make your way over to the Ruby Residence in the northwest of Dam Battlegrounds, located north of Ben Welder’s Sunroof and northwest of the Hydroponic Dome Complex. It’s not far from the EMT trap you’ll need to disarm for the Straight Record quest. With any luck, you’ll get a spawn point near Ruby Residence or the Pale Apartments, placing you nearby from the start of the raid.
Once you’re at the Ruby Residence, aim for the westernmost of the three apartment blocks. Refer to the map image above for the building you’re looking for. Go inside the apartment block and make your way up to the first floor (or second floor, depending on how you count floors, i.e., up two sets of stairs). Take a right into the apartment and go all the way to the back of the unit.
You should spot a small desk with a yellow prompt to ‘Search for memorabilia’ on a rectangular container, the quest’s titular Major’s footlocker. When searched, it will drop Major Aiva’s Mementos, so remember to pick them up and stow them in your Safe Pocket. Doing so will tick off the first objective for the Arc Raiders The Major’s Footlocker quest.
Deliver Major Aiva’s Mementos to Tian Wen
After recovering Major Aiva’s keepsakes from her footlocker, head to Tian Wen’s location marked on your map. Speak with him to hand over the collected items and complete this objective. He’ll provide background on Aiva’s final mission and reward you with faction reputation and valuable gear. Make sure all mementos are in your inventory before approaching him, or he won’t acknowledge the delivery.
Now to extract. If you have a Raider Hatch Key, head to the nearby Sunroof Hatch. Otherwise, you have two options: Central Swamp Lift or North Complex Elevator. Central Swamp Lift is the safest and marginally closest of the two. It isn’t a raider hotspot, and Arc presence is minimal, so you should be able to extract without too many hiccups.
Where exactly is Ruby Residence on Dam Battlegrounds map
Ruby Residence is on the northwest edge of the Dam Battlegrounds map, just up the hill from the swamp area and the Hydroponic Dome/”Hydroponic Dome Complex” POI.
More precisely:
- It sits near the outer boundary of the map, on higher ground overlooking the swamp, between landmarks like Hydroponic Dome Complex to the south and Victory Ridge / West Broken Bridge further to the north-east.
- In-game, look for a small cluster of red apartment buildings labeled Ruby Residence on the map grid; it is directly above the swamp/Hydroponic Dome icons and slightly west of routes that lead toward Pattern House and the Power Generation Complex.
