A lost helmet hides a piece of the past in Arc Raiders’ Keeping The Memory quest, and finding it means piecing together subtle clues scattered across the rubble of Old Apex. Here’s where to search and how to claim this elusive relic before someone else does.
You’ll need to track down a helmet and return it to the memorial. Other than telling you to visit the wreckage, Celeste isn’t particularly generous with the details. It’s similar to the A Reveal in Ruins and Straight Record quests in that respect. We’ll walk you through where to find the helmet and complete the Arc Raiders Keeping The Memory quest.
Reach the wreckage in the Formicai Hills
Head northwest from Outpost 88 toward the Formicai Hills. Follow the dirt path past the abandoned mining rigs until you spot the crashed transport amid rocky outcrops. Clear out any nearby Formicai swarms, then search the cockpit for the pilot’s helmet.
First off, load into Dam Battlegrounds. I recommend a Free Loadout because there’s no need to extract with a specific item or loot for this quest, so it’s not worth risking a custom loadout with a good weapon and gear when you’re tackling the Arc Raiders Keeping The Memory quest.
You’ll find the Wreckage in the Formicai Hills in the southeast of Dam Battlegrounds, east of Scrap Yard, and south of Testing Annex. It’s located in a forest and is recognizable by the massive wreck of a Baron at the foot of a hill.
Search for the missing helmet
Head to the crashed ship wreckage in the northwest corner of the Keeping The Memory area. Check the cargo containers scattered around the site, focusing on the one near the tail section marked with hazard symbols. Open it to reveal the missing helmet inside, then pick it up to complete this step.
To find the helmet, go to the Baron husk and look for a small prickly shrub out in a clearing in the forest just west of the husk. It’s easy to miss, but it’s just below the Baron’s arm, painted with a colorful yellow, blue, and red motif, that’s suspended in the air.
As you approach, you’ll see a yellow interact circle marker pop up that reads ‘Search for helmet’ to let you know it’s the right spot. Interact with the shrub, then remember to pick up the helmet as it drops on the ground.
Return the helmet to the memorial
Head back to the memorial site where you picked up the helmet. Place it on the designated pedestal or marker at the center of the monument. This completes the Keeping The Memory quest and grants your rewards. Make sure no enemies interrupt the interaction.
Lastly, you’ll need to carry the helmet and place it on a short pole that’s a few steps south of the shrub where you found the helmet. The top of the pole will glow blue, outlining the shape of the helmet. Approach and place the helmet to wrap up the final objective.
Show exact map coordinates for the Wreckage in Dam Battlegrounds
Exact coordinates for the Wreckage in Dam Battlegrounds aren’t universally listed as numeric (x,y) values across guides, as the game relies on in-game map markers and visual landmarks rather than grid systems.
Map Position
The Wreckage sits in the Formicai Hills on the bottom-right/southeastern edge of the Dam Battlegrounds map-zoom out fully to spot the hills spanning the southern border, then zoom in for the labeled “Wreckage” icon south of key landmarks like Scrapyard and east of major roads.
Navigation Tips
From spawn or Field Depots, head southeast past Scrapyard (run east of it for a quick approach), aiming for the overgrowth near Formicai Outpost; the site features the massive half-buried Baron Husk wreckage amid debris, often marked directly on your quest-updated map once active.

Arc Raiders does not use a numeric grid coordinate system like (x,y) for locations; instead, the Wreckage is marked directly on the in-game map once the Keeping the Memory quest is active.
Precise Map Location
Open the Dam Battlegrounds map, zoom fully out to see Formicai Hills along the entire southern border (bottom edge), then zoom in on the southeast corner for the “Wreckage” label south of Scrapyard, east of the main southern road, and near Formicai Outpost.
Visual Landmarks
Look for the massive, half-buried Baron Husk wreckage (spider-like machine legs raised) in overgrown debris; it’s consistently positioned there, with Raider Caches (like A6/A7) north of it per community maps.
