Nefer brings a fresh surge of power to Genshin Impact’s Dendro roster, blending swift precision and layered reactions into a devastating combat style. Here’s how to master her abilities, builds, and team synergies to turn every encounter into controlled chaos.
Nefer best build
Nefer shines as a Dendro DPS with strong reaction potential and consistent field uptime. Her best build focuses on maximizing Elemental Mastery and Crit stats to boost Dendro reaction damage. The Deepwood Memories set remains her go-to for reducing enemy Dendro resistance, while Gilded Dreams or Flower of Paradise Lost can serve as alternatives for reaction-focused setups. Pair her with weapons that provide Crit Rate, Crit Damage, or Elemental Mastery, depending on your artifact rolls, to keep her damage output balanced and reliable.
Nefer is a DPS unit, which means you need to work on her weapon and stats to ensure optimal performance. Since she uses Lunar-Bloom, you’ll need Elemental Mastery and Crit stats to ensure her abilities scale appropriately. Here’s the Nefer best build in Genshin Impact.
| Build Elements | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Weapon | Reliquary of Truth |
| Best Artifact | Night of the Sky’s Unveiling |
| Sands | Elemental Mastery |
| Goblet | Elemental Mastery |
| Circlet | Crit Rate or Crit DMG |
You might be wondering why the Goblet uses Elemental Mastery over Dendro DMG Bonus. The reason is that the Lunar-Bloom reaction reduces the effectiveness of Dendro DMG. This means that we’re better off going for Elemental Mastery, which increases the potency of Lunar-Bloom.
You should maintain about 500 Elemental Mastery and about 50% Crit Rate without relying on the bonus stats from the Artifact set. Try to maintain about 220% Crit DMG and about 130% Energy Recharge. The Energy Recharge stat will ensure that Nerfer’s ultimate recharges quickly.
Best Nefer weapons
Nefer shines with weapons that boost her Dendro damage and energy recharge. Key picks include the new 5-star Dendro catalyst from the latest banner, which amps her Burning reactions by 40% on-hit, paired with its high base attack. For free-to-play options, try the craftable 4-star Favonius Codex to generate particles for her burst uptime. High crit rate weapons like The Widsith work well too, cycling through buffs to spike her normal attack strings during rotations.
The best weapon for Nefer in Genshin Impact is the Reliquary of Truth. This weapon features all the necessary stats that synergize well with Nefer. If you don’t want to pull for the signature weapon, Nightweaver’s Looking Glass, or Dawning Frost.
Reliquary of Truth
This is the signature weapon for Nefer and comes with Crit DMG substats. This makes it very easy to balance out stats quite a bit. As part of the passive, you receive 8% Crit Rate. Additionally, you also receive 80 Elemental Mastery whenever the equipped character uses their Elemental Skill.
If the equipped character deals Lunar-Bloom damage, their Crit DMG is increased by 24%. You can have both of these effects active at the same time, which increases the potency of both buffs by 50%.
Nightweaver’s Looking Glass
This is Lauma’s signature weapon, but it works very well on Nefer in Genshin Impact. It comes with Elemental Mastery substats, which are extremely good for Nefer as they help her scale quite a bit. Additionally, upon dealing Dendro damage, the equipped character’s Elemental Mastery is increased by 60.
If the equipped character deals Lunar-Bloom damage, their Elemental Mastery is further increased by 60. If these two effects are active at the same time, the equipped character has Bloom damage increased by 120%, Burgeon damage by 80%, and Lunar Bloom damage by 40%.
The Burgeon damage doesn’t help much, but the Lunar Bloom buff is more than enough to keep things going. Additionally, the Elemental Mastery buffs will increase Nefer’s damage massively.
Dawning Frost
This is a 4-star option for Nefer, and it works pretty well. This weapon comes with Crit Damage substats, which help out with stat balancing quite a bit. Additionally, if you use Charged Attack, your Elemental Mastery is increased by 72, and if you use Elemental Skill, your Elemental Mastery is increased by 42.
Overall, you get a lot of Elemental Mastery boost when casting your abilities. The base attack on the weapon is a bit low, but since it’s 4-star, it helps you to get multiple copies easier and thereby go for a refinement five weapon.
Best Nefer Artifacts
Nefer performs best with artifact sets that boost her Dendro damage and Elemental Mastery. The Deepwood Memories set is the prime choice, lowering opponents’ Dendro Resistance and amplifying team reactions. For pure personal damage, Gilded Dreams offers strong bonuses based on team composition. Focus on main stats like Elemental Mastery, Dendro DMG Bonus, and Crit Rate or Crit DMG, with substats leaning toward Crit, EM, and Energy Recharge to keep her Burst ready.
The best artifact for Nefer in Genshin Impact is Night of the Sky’s Unveiling. You need to complete the 4-pc set as it synergizes perfectly with the character. The two-piece bonus gives you 80 Elemental Mastery, which is massive.
However, it’s the four-piece bonus that really makes the difference. Whenever a character uses a Lunar reaction, the equipped character receives 15% or 30% Crit Rate, depending on whether you are in the Nascent Gleam or Ascendant Gleam state.
The Nascent Gleam and Ascendant Gleam states are exclusive to Nod-Krai characters. If you have only one Nod-Krai character, you get Nascent Gleam, and if you have two Nod-Krai characters, you gain Ascendant Gleam.
This just means you need two Nod-Krai characters to trigger the 30% Crit Rate boost. We strongly recommend building your team around this constraint.
Genshin Impact Nefer kit
Nefer’s kit centers around fast-paced Dendro damage, supported by her unique mechanics that reward precise timing. Her Normal and Charged Attacks apply consistent Dendro effects, while her Elemental Skill creates a rotating seed that strikes nearby foes and amplifies her personal damage. The Elemental Burst expands this field, boosting reaction potential and granting buffs that scale with Elemental Mastery. With strong synergy for teams built around Bloom or Quicken reactions, Nefer thrives as a versatile on-field DPS with supportive sub-DPS capabilities.
Nefer’s kit is pretty simple to understand by Genshin Impact standards. She is especially straightforward to play when you compare her to someone like Flins. Her kit primarily revolves around the Verdant Dew stacks. Whenever you deal Lunar damage to enemies, you gain Verdant Dew, and you can have a maximum of three stacks. More on these below.
When Nefer uses her Elemental Skill, she enters the Shadow Dance state. In this state, your charged attack is upgraded, where you generate four clones that deal massive Lunar Bloom damage. The clones are what deal the Lunar Bloom damage, as Nefer herself simply deals Dendro damage, which doesn’t hit as hard. However, the Lunar-Bloom damage scales off Elemental Mastery, making this state crucial to your overall rotation.
Now, in order to use the special charged attacks, you need Verdant Dew stacks. Each charged attack consumes one stack, which leads you to deal Lunar-Bloom damage, and that in turn recharges the Verdant Dew stacks. This is a cyclic process, sustainable as long as you keep dealing Lunar Bloom damage.
The second part of Nefer’s kit revolves around Seeds of Deceit. When there are two or more Nod-Krai characters in the party, any Dendro Core on the battlefield or the ones that are made within 15 seconds of activating Elemental Skill are converted to Seeds of Deceit.
When Nefer uses her special charged attack, she consumes these stacks, thereby triggering a buff called Veil of Falsehood. This buff increases the damage of Nefer’s special charged attack, and at three stacks, it grants Nefer 100 Elemental Mastery. However, unlike normal Dendro Cores, these Seeds of Deceit deal no damage.
Nefer also boasts a powerful Elemental Burst that deals high Dendro damage to enemies. You need three stacks of Veil of Falsehood so that you can deal the maximum possible damage. This damage scales off Nefer’s ATK and Elemental Mastery.
Finally, Nefer has a passive ability that increases the regeneration time of Verdant Dew by 10% for every 100 Elemental Mastery past 500. This can go up to a maximum of 50%.
In normal circumstances, you regenerate one Verdant Dew every 2.5 seconds, but at 1000 Elemental Mastery, you regenerate 1.5 Verdant Dew every 3.7 seconds. In short, you regenerate more Verdant Dew if you take steps to boost your Elemental Mastery stat.
Best Nefer team comps
Nefer shines in teams that amplify her Dendro damage through reactions like Burning, Burgeon, or Hyperbloom. Pair her with Thoma and Dehya for a Burning setup that ignites enemies while sustaining her energy. For Burgeon, combine Nefer with Furina, Xiangling, and a healer like Baizhu to trigger massive AoE explosions. Hyperbloom squads featuring Nahida, Xingqiu, and Kuki Shinobu maximize off-field Dendro application and Electro synergy. These lineups leverage Nefer’s strengths for consistent clears in both single-target and group fights.
Nefer is a bit restrictive with her team comps in Genshin Impact, as she needs Lauma as a must. Apart from that, you can have any character you want, which ideally includes a Hydro unit and a healer.
Nefer Nilou team
This is the best team for Nefer, comprising Lauma, Nilou, and Nahida. The reason why you need Lauma is that she buffs the damage of Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon by allowing those reactions to Crit. In addition to that, she also increases the damage output of the Lunar-Bloom reaction.
Nilou is a very good Hydro unit who can generate a lot of Bloom cores. This allows Nefer to create Seeds of Deceit, which in turn allows her to gain Veil of Falsehood stacks. Finally, Nahida simply provides Dendro application, and she can use her ultimate to increase the Elemental Mastery of the party.
Every party member in this buffs up Nefer, who simply walks into the field and uses her special charged attacks to deal heavy damage. This team lacks a healer, but you don’t need it as much, since you can wipe out enemies very quickly.
Nefer Aino Team
This team functions similarly to the previous team, except it has Aino in place of Nilou. The team members will comprise Nefer, Lauma, Aino, and Nahida. Aino has a high Hydro application, and if you get her to Constellation six, she is a better choice over Constellation zero Nilou.
The rest of the team functions similarly to the previous one, where Lauma will provide buffs, Nahida will provide buffs, and Nefer will deal damage. Aino also has very short rotations, which makes it easy to use her. Your DPS as a whole increases a lot since Nefer will get more time on the field due to short rotations from Aino.
Is Nefer worth pulling?
Nefer is a strong Dendro DPS who shines in teams built around quick reactions and consistent off-field support. Her abilities deliver solid damage over time and scale well with Elemental Mastery, making her synergize easily with Hydro or Electro teammates. Players who enjoy reaction-heavy gameplay and steady elemental output will find her a valuable addition, though those already running characters like Alhaitham or Nahida may not see a major upgrade unless they aim for niche team setups or higher-tier Spiral Abyss clears.
This is a difficult question to answer, as Nefer is quite nuanced as a character compared to everyone else. However, the simplest answer will be that if you have Lauma pull for Nefer, otherwise we recommend against it.
This is because Lauma makes Nefer perform significantly better than when the former is absent from your Genshin Impact team.
Lauma lets all the key Dendro reactions Crit and increases the damage of Lunar-Bloom. No other character in the game can provide these buffs, which makes her a staple for Nefer. Without Lauma, Nefer is no different than someone like Alhaitham, who can also deal a lot of damage to enemies with much less setup.
Best weapons for Nefer at C0 and C6
Nefer’s weapon rankings barely change between C0 and C6: her signature is still the best by a noticeable margin, with a similar hierarchy of 5-star and 4-star options under it.
Absolute best-in-slot (C0 & C6)
- Reliquary of Truth (signature): Highest CRIT DMG, extra CRIT Rate, and a large EM buff when using Skill and triggering Lunar-Bloom, tailored exactly to her kit so it stays 15-20% ahead of other options at all constellations.
- At C6, her constellations multiply this weapon’s value even more because she triggers more Lunar-Bloom hits and Skill damage, keeping it clearly top tier.
Other 5-star options
- Nightweaver’s Looking Glass: EM-focused catalyst that buffs EM further when Skill hits and when Bloom/Lunar-Bloom triggers, making it the best non-signature 5-star for teamwide Bloom damage at both C0 and C6.
- General EM/CRIT 5-star catalysts (like Tome-type charged-attack weapons) work well, but they sit a tier below Reliquary and Nightweaver for pure Nefer DPS.
Best 4-star and budget picks
- Dawning Frost: Strong 4-star with CRIT DMG and EM buffs after Charged Attack and Skill hits, usually her best 4-star at both low and high constellations.
- Blackmarrow Lantern: High EM with direct Bloom and Lunar-Bloom damage bonuses; slightly more reaction-centric but very competitive if you lean fully into Bloom damage.
C0 vs C6 nuances
- At C0, weapons that smooth rotations and give EM + CRIT (Reliquary, Dawning Frost, Blackmarrow) are ideal because they cover both reaction damage and basic stat needs.
- At C6, her personal multipliers explode, so investing into the highest personal DPS stick (Reliquary of Truth first, then Nightweaver/Dawning Frost) gives the best returns, and ER/utility weapons rarely outperform pure DPS options anymore.
