ZZZ Dialyn: Build Guide Team Compositions Skill Priority Drive Discs

Guides

Dialyn shocks Zenless Zone Zero’s battlefield into submission-master her stun potential with this build, kit, and team breakdown.

Dialyn materials

Dialyn uses Drive Discs like Thunder Metal and Shockstar Disco for Stun damage and Electric DMG boosts. Prioritize Thunder Metal’s 4-piece set for her ATK and Stun Multiplier gains, pairing it with Shockstar Disco’s 2-piece for Daze buildup. Main stats focus on ATK% or HP% on Disc 4 and 5, with Crit Rate or PEN on Disc 6; substats target HP, ATK, and Impact. Equip her with a W-Engine like Thunder Metal or Specialized Shockwave Circuit to maximize squad control.

Dialyn, being a Stun unit, will need Stun-related materials for ascension, which include Basic Stun Certification Chip and its upgrades. You’ll also require the Basic Physical Chip and its upgrades to upgrade her skill abilities.

To upgrade her Core Skills, you will need the boss materials Exuvia of Refinement and Higher Dimensional Data Stealth Phantom. The total number of materials you need for Ascension, Skill levelling, and Core Skills has been listed in the following sections.

Ascension materials

The materials you need to ascend Dialyn from level one to her maximum level are as follows:

  • Basic Stun Certification Seal x4
  • Advanced Stun Certification Seal x32
  • Buster Certification Seal x30

All of these materials can be farmed from the Combat Simulation section for Agent Promotion. Make sure you select the Stun materials to receive the necessary items.

Skill Upgrade materials

The materials you need to upgrade all of Dialyn’s skills to their maximum level are as follows:

  • Basic Physical Chip x25
  • Advanced Physical Chip x75
  • Specialized Physical Chip x250
  • Hamster Cage Pass x5

The Basic Physical Chip and its upgrades can be obtained from the Combat Simulation section for Agent Skill. Hamster Cage Passes can be obtained by completing events.

Core Skill materials

The materials required to upgrade Dialyn’s Core Skill are as follows:

  • Exuvia of Refinement x9
  • Higher Dimensional Data Stealth Phantom x60

Exuvia of Refinement is dropped by the Notorious Hunt Boss, Miasma Priest. Higher Dimensional Data Stealth Phantom is dropped by Expert Challenge Boss, Ionized Doppleganger Jane.

Dialyn kit

Dialyn’s kit centers on her Stun prowess, building Daze through charged attacks and her EX Special that slams enemies with a massive shockwave. Core rotation involves chaining Basic Attacks into her Dodge Counter for quick bursts, then unloading the Chain Attack during her Ultimate to maximize team damage windows. Position her behind Off-Field units to trigger Assist follow-ups, amplifying squad pressure against tough Elites.

Dialyn’s kit revolves around two important buffs in her kit, namely Positive Reviews and Customer Complaint. You can accumulate Positive Reviews by simply attacking enemies with your EX Special Attack: Rock, Scissors, Paper.

Customer Complaint is received when Positive Reviews reach 90. Maintaining these buffs is key to playing Dialyn. It’s not as difficult as someone like Galbrena from Wuthering Waves, but it will likely take you a few runs before you can get the hang of Dialyn, if you’re anything like us.

When playing Dialyn, you need to keep attacking enemies until you trigger Customer Complaint. Once you do that, trigger your Chain Attack. The moment you do that, you can switch to another character. The incoming character will be able to use their Ultimate without any Decibel points.

You must also remember that, if you don’t have a Customer Complaint stack, you can still trigger the Chain Attack. Dialyn will simply consume the 90 Positive Reviews stack to do this.

Dialyn’s EX Special Attack triggers Rock, Scissors, and Paper. This cycles through three attacks with the same name. When an enemy is hit by EX Special Attack Paper, they receive a debuff called Malicious Complaint. This debuff increases the Stun duration of enemies and also increases the Stun damage multiplier by 15%.

Dialyn works exceptionally well when she is paired with Attack and Rupture agents. If paired with an Attack or Rupture agent, her EX Special Attack Crit DMG is increased by 50%. Additionally, her squad members will receive a new buff called Overwhelming Positive. This buff increases enemy damage taken by 40%.

Finally, the damage of Dialyn’s EX Special Attack Rock, Scissors, and Paper is increased when Overwhelming Positive buff is active, depending on the previous character’s speciality. If the previous character before switching to Dialyn is an Attack agent, then the EX Special Attack deals damage up to 360% of the previous character’s ATK stats.

If the previous character is a Rupture agent before switching to Dialyn, the damage of EX Special Attack goes up to 400% of the previous unit’s Sheer Force. This is a huge boon, so keep it in mind.

Dialyn W-Engine

The Dialyn W-Engine boosts ATK and Daze, with its core passive granting extra Impact and a stun duration extension on Electric Anomalies. It shines for her by amplifying Stun output during chain attacks and Ultimates, where the team shares 20% of her Daze. Pair it with drive discs that prioritize Impact and ATK to maximize her crowd control in Electric teams.

You have several choices when it comes to the best W-Engine for Dialyn. If you want an optimal performance, you’ll have to use Yesterday Calls, which is her best-in-slot W-Engine. Otherwise, you can also go for Hellfire Gears and Steam Oven, which are also solid choices.

Yesterday Calls

This is an S-Rank W-Engine, which is also the signature for Dialyn. When equipped, the Energy Regen of the wearer is increased by 1.5 per second. Additionally, it increases the Daze inflicted on enemies by 9% up to three times whenever the wearer deals Physical Attack through EX Special Attacks.

When there are three stacks, the Crit DMG of the party increases by 30%. This buff cannot stack, and only one instance of Crit DMG can exist at a time.

Hellfire Gears

This is an S-Rank W-Engine, which is the signature for Koleda, but it also works well with Dialyn. When equipped, it increases the Energy Regen of the wearer by 0.6 per second.

If the equipped character uses an EX Special Attack, their Impact DMG is increased by 10%. This can stack up to 2 times, up to a maximum of 20%.

Hellfire Gears makes for a strong, if uninteresting option.

Steam Oven

This is an A-Rank W-Engine, which also works well on Dialyn as a cheap alternative. When the equipped character gains 10 Energy, their impact increases by 2%. This effect can stack up to eight times.

When all the Energy is consumed, the effect continues to persist for 8 more seconds. This W-Engine lacks the raw power of the previous entries in our list. However, the Impact damage on offer is respectable. That said, the aforementioned lack of raw damage buffs means you will likely struggle to clear endgame content.

Dialyn team comps

Dialyn shines in Stun teams that pair her crowd control with Disorder triggers. She links well with Lycaon for ice synergy and freeze setups, or Jane Doe for quick Physical swaps that amplify her daze output. Ellen rounds out a premier ice squad, trading blows while Dialyn locks down enemies. For variety, try Soldier 11 to boost her damage during Stun phases, or Soukaku to buff her squad’s attack speed and output.

Dialyn has some specific requirements when it comes to team comps. She ideally needs Attack and Rupture units in the team. This will trigger her Core Skill and thereby make the most out of her support capabilities.

Dialyn Evelyn team

This team consists of Dialyn, Evelyn, and Astra Yao. In this team, Dialyn is the Stun unit, Evelyn is the Attack unit, and Astra Yao will be the support. Evelyn is an exceptionally powerful Attack agent who deals massive Fire damage. Her ultimate ability also deals heavy burst damage and is one of the strongest parts of her kit.

Dialyn can ensure that not only does Evelyn deal more damage, but can also help her trigger the Ultimate ability without using Decibel points. This makes it very easy to clear all the content in the game with ease.

Astra is one of the best support units in the game, as she can heal all of her allies and provide them all with Crit buffs, too. This effectively complements both Evelyn as well as Dialyn, especially since Dialyn has Crit scaling in her kit.

Dialyn Yixuan team

This team consists of Dialyn, Yixuan, and Lucia, with Yixuan acting as the necessary Rupture agent and Lucia serving as support for her. Yixuan is quite possibly one of the strongest DPS units in the game. Her damage output is unmatched and is only rivaled by the likes of Miyabi.

When you pair her with Lucia, who can heal and buff her, Yixuan can easily clear all content in the game. Dialyn simply adds onto that damage with her Core Ability, where she increases the DPS of Yixuan by 40%.

Dialyn can also Stun enemies, which opens up opportunities for Yixuan to deal damage without worrying about counterattacks.

Is Dialyn worth pulling?

Dialyn is a strong pull for players who rely on stun-based setups or want more control in battle flow. Her kit offers reliable crowd control that pairs well with damage dealers who thrive on stunned targets, making her stand out in specialized teams. While she may not top general damage charts, her value shines in coordinated squads where timing and stun uptime are central to victory.

Yes, Dialyn is absolutely worth pulling in Zenless Zone Zero. She is one of the strongest units in the game. Her ability to buff allies and increase the damage taken by enemies makes her a must-have in every account.

Dialyn synergizes best with Attack and Rupture agents, a quality that makes her a very strong pick from a meta perspective since these kinds of agents are currently the strongest sources of DPS in the meta. This includes Attack agents like Evelyn and Hugo, and Rupture agents like Yixuan and Yidhari.

Best W-Engine choices for Dialyn at different stages

Dialyn’s W-Engine choices scale from early-game accessibility to endgame optimization, prioritizing CRIT Rate for her passive and Energy Regen/Impact for EX Special spam and Daze.

Early Game (Pre-S1)

Start with Precious Fossilized Core (A-Rank) for 10% extra Daze on enemies above 50% HP plus ATK boosts, or Steam Oven (A-Rank) for 50% Energy Regen and up to 16% Impact from energy stacks-ideal F2P options that support frequent EX cycles without heavy investment.

Mid Game (S1 Ready)

Upgrade to The Restrained (S-Rank) as a strong alternative: 12% base Impact with up to 30% DMG/Daze from Basic Attack stacks (max 5), bridging to premium play while maintaining solid stun output. Steam Oven remains viable here for budget sustain.

Endgame (S1+)

Equip Yesterday Calls (Signature S-Rank) for +24% CRIT Rate (easing 100% cap), 1.5 Energy Regen off-field, up to 27% Daze on EX per stack (x3), and 30% team CRIT DMG for 40s-delivering 20%+ Daze gains over alternatives.

Which W-Engine is best for new players starting Dialyn

Steam Oven stands out as the best W-Engine for new players starting Dialyn in Zenless Zone Zero. This craftable A-Rank option delivers 50% Energy Regen and up to 16% Impact from energy stacks, enabling frequent EX Special Attacks crucial for her stun role without gacha pulls.

Why Steam Oven?

New players benefit from its accessibility-fully craftable via the W-Engine module-and synergy with Dialyn’s low-cost EX cycles, ensuring consistent Daze buildup early on. It outperforms other F2P starters by sustaining rotations independently of enemy HP thresholds or rare drops.

Strong Alternatives

  • Precious Fossilized Core (A-Rank): Adds 10-20% Daze on high-HP foes (doubles above 75%) with 15% Impact main stat, great for bossing but less reliable on fast clears.

  • Shockstar Disco (A-Rank): Flat 6% Impact boost, simple plug-and-play for pure stun focus if Energy isn’t an issue.

Upgrade to these as you level; Steam Oven carries through mid-game effectively.
