Death Stranding is an action game developed by Kojima Productions. It is the first game of director Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions after their separation from Konami in 2015. Sony Interactive Entertainment is scheduled to launch it for PlayStation 4 in November 2019 and for Microsoft Windows at 505 Games in 2020. The game title is a reference to the phenomenon of stranding of cetaceans.

Death Stranding takes place in an open world, which also includes multiplayer functions. Kojima compared the genre with the way in which his previous game Metal Gear, now considered a stealth game, was called an action game during its release because the stealth genre was not considered to exist at that time.

People have created "Walls" and get used to living in isolation. Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the player's goal is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including history and gameplay, are linked by the theme of "Strand" or connection. Like Sam Porter Bridges, you will try to close the divisions in society and, in doing so, create new ties or "Strands" with other players around the world. Through your experience in the game, I hope you understand the true importance of forging connections with others.

Actors Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Troy Baker and Lindsay Wagner provided motion capture, 3D scans and vocal performances, while film directors Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn also perform .
