Sony dismisses the rumor of the acquisition of Take-Two



Through official information given to VentureBeat, Sony ruled out the rumor that emerged on Wednesday and asserted that the company was targeting the acquisition of Take-Two Interactive, home of video game studios as popular as Rockstar Games and 2K.

A Sony spokesman explained that they did not know the origin of the rumor, “but there is no plan like that” in the folder.

The initial rumor immediately made a noise due to the scope that such a deal could have, since Sony could exclusively acquire sagas such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, BioShock, Civilization or the existing agreements for games of basketball or the WWE.

At the same time, the value of the shares of Take-Two Interactive soared 5% on the information that Sony would put more than 13 billion dollars on the table. Since the latter company have preferred not to comment on the rumor that originated in the bursatile information site Marketwatch.
