Damon Lindelof still doubts about a second season of Watchmen

This Sunday HBO will release the last episode Watchmen and while the expectation continues to grow regarding what will happen in the plot, among the fans another question has been installed, will the series have a second season?

Although the good audience figures invite us to think that an eventual return of Watchmen I could be almost assured, in the creative area there are still doubts about it. In particular the creator of the series, Damon Lindelof, you're still not sure if you want to continue this story or not.

In a new interview with Variety, the creator of the series said he has no concrete ideas for a second season and that He doesn't want to follow this project just because it went well.

“I am deeply grateful for the good reception the season has had so far, and I don't want to be ungrateful, but still I don't have any inclination or something similar to continue with the story ”, Lindelof said. “And that is based largely and almost exclusively on the fact that I have no idea. If I'm going to be involved in more Watchmen, I should be able to answer the questions, 'why' and 'why now,' and the answers to those questions shouldn't be 'good, because that's what you do, because the First it was good. ”

Does that mean there won't be a second season of Watchmen? Lindelof's own words slide that there is nothing definitive yet.

“I'm not saying there shouldn't be a second season of Watchmen, and I'm not even saying that season shouldn't include some of the characters in this one. I don't know what it should be ”, sentenced.

Of course, there is always the possibility that Lindelof might come up with something and decide to continue with the series, but it is also possible that this is not the case. The truth is that whatever the scenario will depend on what happens on Sunday during the end that, according to its creator, could lead to different interpretations.

“I certainly don't feel the season ends with a cliffhanger,” Lindelof commented. “Although, I suppose it is possible that others perceive it as such. I will be very interested in discussing that. ”

The end of Watchmen It will premiere this Sunday through HBO and will be broadcast at 11:30 p.m. in Chile.
